Rotary Club of Washington, DC-NPS Tree Donation Event
Wednesday April 4, 2005  from 11:00—11:30 a.m.
Ohio Drive, SW, Washington, DC

DIRECTIONS TO THE CHERRY TREE PLANTING

DirectionsThe National Park Service--Washington Rotary April 4, 2007 donation event will be held just below the Tidal Basin between the Inlet Bridge and the George Mason Memorial Bridge.  The Cherry tree planting will be held between Ohio Drive and the Potomac River, across the road from the George Mason Memorial.  The site is within a grassed area close to the Potomac River inlet to the Tidal Basin.

Parking will be reserved for invited guests and will be available off of Ohio Drive, along the Potomac River, next to the 14th Street Bridges.  It is a short walk from the parking area to the Tidal Basin.

In order to get to the 14th Street Bridges Parking Area, on Ohio Drive, SW, follow one of these directions.

1) From VA take the 395 North and cross the Potomac River.  As you
cross the river stay in your right lane and take the first exit after the
bridge—East Potomac Park.  As you round the ramp take the drive until you run into Buckeye Drive.  At the intersection with Buckeye Drive make a right and take it until it intersects with Ohio Drive, SW.  At the intersection with Ohio Drive, SW make a right.  Continue past the US Park Police Building, on your right, and look for the second Parking Area. It will be on your right!

2) From western DC take Rock Creek Parkway east until it merges with
Ohio Drive, SW.  Follow the drive along the Potomac; go under the Mason,
Rochambeau and Williams Bridge and look for the first Parking Area on your left.

3) From DC take 15th St. south toward the Tidal Basin and head toward
the entrance to 395 South.  Before the entrance to 395 you will need to
bear to your right on to East Basin Drive—the Jefferson Memorial will be on your right, and make a left at the intersection with Ohio Drive.  Take Ohio Drive, SW under the 14th Street Bridges and look for the first parking lot on your left.

4) From eastern DC take 395 South and exit at East Potomac Park/ Hains
Point.  At the end of the ramp you will make a left and go under 395.  Bear to your right immediately and follow East Basin Drive—the Jefferson Memorial will be on your right.  At the intersection with Ohio Drive, SW make a left and go under the 14thg Street bridges and look for the first Parking Lot on your left.

Please note, the 2007 National Cherry Blossom Festival will be underway during this event so leave extra time for your travel.

If you need any assistance in getting from the Parking Area to the event site please let me know.
