three-story 48,000 sq.ft. building

with original equipment. Operated from 1907-

1957 handling Chinese/Japanese-imported

raw silk to soak, dye and transfer to reels

as thread. Includes machines used to twist,

double and wind silk including original belt-driven

machines and newer motorized ones; plus, tools,

drying closets, steam-boiler house, office,

records, lockers, bobbins and silk spools.

Located in Georges Ck. valley near Cumberland

and interstate access. Preservation and
